What are the advantages of playing Futsal vs Soccer
There are many advantages to playing futsal compared to regular soccer:
More touches on the ball, verses 8v8 or 11v11 outdoor soccer.
More opportunities for everyone to score goals
Players are not just a defender or an attacker but a complete soccer player and have a much better all-around understanding of the game
Eliminates complicated rules such as ‘off-sides’ that may hinder youngsters from playing.
Where did Futsal come from?
The origin of Futsal (Five-a-Side Soccer) can be traced back to Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1930 when Juan Carlos Ceriani devised a five-a-side version of soccer for youth competition in YMCAs. Futsal is now played in all continents of the world by over 100 countries with 12 million players.
As a parent/carer, do I need to stay in the class while my child participates?
No! If your child is comfortable without your presence and you return before the class is over, you are not required to stay and watch.
What equipment does my child need to participate in the class?
All participants need shin guards, soccer socks and indoor/tennis shoes. Futsal shoes are not required, but they help and they look good!!!!
Are your classes a league?
No, we are not a league. Our classes are designed to let the child explore their talents and develop a love for the game of Futsal. We focus on building self confidence with the ball and working as a group to be successful.
